Nita Koom-Dadzie, representing Track Houston and Humble Kingwood High in Texas, won the girls 15-16 100-meter dash final into a significant headwind by clocking 12.00 seconds at the USATF National Junior Olympic Track and Field Championships at Hornet Stadium at Sacramento State. Koom-Dadzie also contributed to a victory in the 4x100-meter relay in 46.12 seconds.
